Animal Rights Awareness Week will take place from June 18 to June 24. Animal rights is the idea that non-human animals are entitled to the possession of their own lives and that their most basic interests, like the need to avoid suffering, should be given the same attention as that of humans. In simple terms, Animal Rights Awareness Week is a week in which we bring attention to animal rights issues.
There are animals suffering all over the world and CVA is part of the fight to end this cruelty. This week, animal lovers around the world hope to educate more people on animal rights and why animals deserve these basic rights as much as humans do. CVA hopes to help bring awareness to this important cause and make more people see animals as beautiful living creatures, just like human beings.
“Animal Rights Awareness Week is very important to us at CVA,” Dr. John Charos, DVM, President/CEO of Central Veterinary Associates, states. “More people should know about the suffering so many animals endure so we end that suffering and give animals the rights they deserve.”
If you see an animal being mistreated or abused, please call your local police station. If authorities are unresponsive, please call PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) at (757) 622-7382.
