United Pet Group recently issued a voluntary recall of its rawhide dog chews, which are sold under 13 different brand names, due to several illnesses reported to the U.S. Food & Drug Administration. This ultimately led to the discovery of the products being processed on machines cleaned with ammonium compound mixture that is not approved by the FDA.
The recall is applicable to products with expirations of June 1,2019 to May 31, 2020, under the following brands: American Beefhide, Companion, Dentahex, Dentley’s, Digest-eeze, Enzadent, Essential Everyday, Exer-Hides, Good Lovin’, Healthy Hide (including Good-n-Fun and Good-n-Fit), Hill Country Fare, Petco and Priority Pet. The full list of specific products can be found on the FDA site.
