On July 13, Dr. John Charos, President/Chief Executive Officer, Central Veterinary Associates, attended the screening of New York Vet at Bellmore Movies and Showcase.
The film, directed by Megumi Smiros, follows Dr. Charos throughout his daily life and his past experience working with rescue dogs during 9/11. While much of his schedule is filled with appointments to take care of animals, Dr. Charos volunteers his free time to the Suffolk County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals to prevent animal abuse.
Ms. Smiros began making this movie for her Advanced Film Documentary Project class while attending Hofstra University after she requested an interview with Dr. Charos on the topic of animal abuse. For more information call (516) 825-3066.
