Dr. Steven Fox, DVM
President & Chief Executive Officer
Dr. Steven Fox has more than 30 years of experience in the Veterinary Health Care delivery industry and currently serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of Central Veterinary Associates, P.C. He joined Central Veterinary Associates in 1980, as the third Veterinarian of a long standing family practice in Valley Stream, New York, when he co-founded and formulated the partnership named Central Veterinary Associates. Recently CVA reorganized into a Professional Corporation thus is designated with the P.C. suffice. This re-structuring allowed for the better entry of DVM Associate into the ownership aspects of the organization. As well as being able to consider further practice acquisitions within our geographic regions to allow more clients to enjoy the 24 hour/7 day a week model of veterinary care. This model of practice provides the complete professional coverage and care expected from the Veterinary Industry.
Today, Central Veterinary Associates, P.C. has six locations throughout Queens and Nassau Counties. Its main location in Valley Stream is a full service 24 hour/ 7 days per week, AAHA (American Animal Hospital Association) certified hospital, servicing tens of thousands of clients and their pets annually. Central Veterinary Associates employs over one hundred professional, para-professional and general staff members working together with more than 15 Licensed Veterinary Doctors. We believe that practice ownership by many of the doctors provides a high level of "self-pride and dedication".
Dr. Fox prides himself in structuring a multi-tier management system allowing for the most efficient methods of client and patient service. He has maintained a clear mission statement "of excellence" that has stood the test of time and has delivered outstanding practice growth with excellence in patient care and client service. We seek to be "the best in our class".
Dr. Fox received a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Animal Sciences from Fairleigh Dickinson University. Additionally, he holds a D.V.M. degree from the University of Perugia, Italy and has been accumulating credits towards the completion of an Executive MBA degree from various online correspondence courses. Dr. Fox, recently (2010) obtained a Diploma of completion from The Wharton School of Business at The University of Pennsylvania in Veterinary Executive Leadership and The Future of Veterinary Medicine on a National and Global Perspective. Furthermore, he held a long term position as the senior advisor to The National Pet Club and promoted this club at most all National Conferences.
Dr. Fox has active involvement in the following organizations: AAHA (American Animal Hospital Association), AVMA American Veterinary Medical Association), NYSVMA (NY State Veterinary Medical Association), NYSVMS (NY Sate Veterinary Medical Society), LIVMA (Long Island Veterinary Medical Association), and the AVDS (American Veterinary Dental Society). He additionally continues to attend and participate in many continuing education seminars across the country. He prides himself on staying abreast of all veterinary medicine has to offer to aid the patients we serve. Diversity and sensitivity training at the workplace has become a main focus of his.
Dr. Fox has proved to be the very foundation for the continued advancement of Central Veterinary Associates and its Network of Animal Health Care Centers. We are proud of his accomplishments and the benefits his expertise has brought the veterinary community and our clients and patients alike. Amongst his many accolades to the profession, he was presented, on behalf of CVA with "The National Humane Award for Outstanding Services as a Veterinarian" in 2001 by the former New York State Governor Pataki at a National awards dinner.
Dr. Fox enjoys his personal time doing many activities, including traveling with his wife and son. He particularly emphasizes regular aerobic activity and places a major accent on sports for the entire family, especially for growing children. He has voluntarily participated and instructed in advanced tennis training sessions in the local communities at various age levels. He brings his 35 years of competitive knowledge to the advancement of the game and guided his son to achieve the highest National Junior Ranking in The United States in both singles and doubles. His son currently works in the financial service industry after graduating "cum laude" from The Wharton School of Business at The University of Pennsylvania.
