Dr. Sarah Guasp knew she wanted to become a veterinarian for as long as she could remember. She would spend most of her time outdoors, looking at all the different animals and insects around her backyard. She was fascinated by all the furry, feathery and scaly creatures around her. At the age of 8, she got her very first pet, a Leopard Gecko named Jules. Jules became ill after a few years and after learning to care and treat him for his illness, Dr. Guasp’s passion for veterinary medicine grew stronger.
Dr. Guasp is a native Long Islander and started her eight year journey for Veterinary Medicine by going to SUNY Cobleskill, where she graduated with a Bachelor’s in Animal Science. She went on to get her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at Ross University, on the island of Saint Kitts in the Caribbean. She spent her clinical year at the University of Florida and officially graduated in May 2020.
When Dr. Guasp is not in the office treating her patients, she can be found at home playing video games and spending time with her multiple animals (Teagan, the Dog; Iggy, the Desert Iguana; Gecky, the Leopard Gecko; Checkers, the Guinea Pig; and Axel, the Axolotl). An interesting fact about Dr. Guasp is that she is a 2nd degree black belt in TaeKwonDo!
I strive to give every animal the best care possible, as if they were my own family. I want to give a voice to the voiceless.
