Dr. Greg Nelson attended The Ohio State University for both his undergraduate and his veterinary school studies, ultimately graduating Magna Cum Laude from the College of Veterinary Medicine in 1996.

After graduation, Dr. Nelson continued his education, earning the distinguished honor of becoming a Diplomate of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners, specializing in both Canine and Feline Practice. As such, Dr. Nelson has the backing of an internationally recognized academic organization in veterinary medicine that recognizes him as having proven knowledge and expertise above and beyond what is required to practice veterinary medicine.

Dr. Nelson has been working for over two decades at Central Veterinary Associates where he currently serves as the Director of Surgery and the Director of Diagnostic Imaging, with a particular interest in ultrasound. Dr. Nelson has performed over 900 studies annually.

Always striving to remain up to date with the latest information and with the mantra that one must always continue learning, Dr. Nelson travels the country attending the latest Continuing Education seminars.

When not working, Dr. Nelson enjoys boating, fishing, hiking, snorkeling, cooking, and his latest endeavor- learning how to fly small aircraft.

Dr. Nelson is married to associate veterinarian, Dr. Karen Liss, and together, they have a teenage son.

The Nelson family shares their home with Brady {a Labrador Retriever}, Lupe {a Chihuahua} , Cleo {a beautiful long haired kitty}, Nibbles {a Cockatiel}, and “Dog” {a Bearded Dragon lizard}. Additionally, Dr. Nelson and his family enjoy keeping a saltwater reef aquarium with beautiful fish species as well as corals.

Dr. Nelson enjoys traveling internationally with his family, immersing himself in local culture, enjoying local cuisine, exploring the flora and fauna of the country, and of course, fishing when able!
