Dr. Sheila Cayetano loves to be a veterinarian because she wants to help all kinds of pets and most importantly help each owner understand how to care for them. As she grew up, the career choice was solidified when she delved more into her sciences and recognized how much joy it gave her to solve mysteries.
Dr. Cayetano’s passion ranges from surgery to public health. She enjoys general practice, to delve in emergency medicine and especially see pocket pets and exotics.
While attending Queens College she received her undergraduate degree in Biology with a minor in Studio Art. After graduation, she worked at a veterinary hospital for almost 2 years to prepare her for veterinary school. She went on to get her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at Ross University in St. Kitts and then completed her clinical year at Auburn University in Alabama.
When Dr. Cayetano isn’t treating her patients, she can be found reading all sorts of books of any genre. She is usually found spending time cooking up a storm with her husband, Jimmy, or just watching a movie at home along with her family of 4 furry animals; 2 cats Baby Leo and Xena, 2 dogs Luna and Jax. An interesting tidbit about Dr. Cayetano is that she is a certified open water scuba diver.
