Dr. Virginia Jurgens first knew that she wanted to become a veterinarian at age 5, when she decided her best friend was Bogey, a Labrador Retriever.
Dr. Jurgens enjoys Internal Medicine and little white fluffy dogs.
Dr. Jurgens is a native New Yorker and Queens resident. She received her undergraduate degree in Biology at Stony Brook University and graduated from St. George’s University with her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. She was recognized as a member of the prestigious Phi Zeta Honor Society. She performed her clinical training at North Carolina State University and Blue Pearl/Animal Medical Center in NYC.
Upon graduating in 2011, she has been a full time veterinarian at Central Veterinary Associates and thoroughly enjoys taking care of all creatures in Queens and Nassau. She was honored to be recognized as a New York Power Woman in Business in 2018. Dr. Jurgens is thorough, patient and treats all of her furry and scaly patients as family.
She is nationally USDA accredited and can help dogs and cats on their international journeys.
When Dr. Jurgens isn’t treating her patients, she can be found reading, kayaking, cooking or exploring NYC with her husband, Evan.
She has a young and energetic Bichon, Wilbur, and an almost 30 year water turtle, Washington.
